Modern Wonders. Streaming movies right out of the air! Shopping for anything at home, then having things delivered the next day! Depositing checks with your smart phone! Having to wait in line for hours to cast your vote.
I don’t think electronic voting should be used until they figure out how to prevent all the cybersecurity problems we have with credit cards, ATMs, Identity Theft, etc.etc. I really would like a much better alternative to the present password system.
To the rest of the world we are probably not looking like a world leader type nation, or a democracy when we don’t handle getting elections right, or canceling voting altogether in Colorado.
I get a ballot in the mail, I have a receipt, it leaves a paper trail.Red states prefer to restrict voter access because most of the time they can only win by cheating.
Partisan voter suppression and rank incompetence lead to long lines at the voting locations. But the fact that people still want to vote is very encouraging. The more input the state has, the better, assuming it increases turnout on a fairly level playing field. In recent years, republicans, citing the potential for fraud, have moved to make registration and voting more accountable by requiring proof of citizenship with birth certificates, multiple IDs at the polls and matching addresses on those IDs. Absentee ballots are not forwarded, which affects more transient, low-income urban voters who must then show up at the polls, where red tape causes delays. And then reduce the number from 200 to 60 stations. For democracy’s sake, the fiasco of lines extending out like this can’t be allowed to continue to happen.

There’s a solution for that: Pre-filled ballots!

Washington state is 100% vote by mail. No excuse for not voting.

We need speedier poll workers. Right now they are mostly elderly and work at a snail’s place processing each voter.

Please note that this only happens with regularity in Red states.

Some day Republicans are going to come up with some cases of voter fraud — and they’ll be provable, too. You betcha.
They’re going to do this the minute they finish their ‘alternative’ to Obamacare.
Unless their laser like focus on jobs, Jobs, JOBS! gets in the way.

I will partially give you that as there were “mistakes” and problems rampant in New York voting. Republican and Democrat.

And then all the democrat ballots disappear like they did in Florida.
