I have a landline and caller ID. I give out the landline number for most things except family and friends on the cellphone. The crap mostly goes to the landline and answering machine and the cellphone hardly ever rings with robocalls.
years ago when i lived in NY I would regularly get a call from some guy looking for Enio every month despite me saying it wasn’t his number etc. after 4 months I said “I’m sorry but Enio is dead.” he never called again
When you got phone service, you gt the number of somebody that moved or died. Now you get the number of an arrested dealer or somebody that can’t afford phone payments.

I learned a long time ago that, just because it rings, it doesn’t mean you have to answer it.

It is a Discipline one must learn, to ignore the ring of the phone when it is inconvenient for you….
