We get tv reporters shouting out questions at people, politicians ( if we think of them as people, and there’s no reason that we should) as they leave or enter venues. I feel sure that one of these days a reporter will get decked.
A few years ago a friend of my son had his house burn down. He was in shock, seeing this, when a local reporter confronted him and began questioning him. After a couple questions, I told the kid that the reporter wouldn’t shut up until he did. He shut up, and the reporter left. That 15 seconds of fame is not worth talking to an idiot.
We’ve all seen those scenes of a group of reporters all shouting questions at once. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those reporters get answered. Seems like they feel it’s something they have to do, even if it’s useless.
Wapner had a pretty good sense of humor. He was once invited on the Tonight Show to mediate a dispute between Johnny Carson and David Letterman. He got in a few good zingers at both Johnny and Dave’s expense.

Perhaps the next episode will be The Case of the Microphone Lollipop.

I can think of so many “wrap up” reporters who deserve the same treatment.

This being the People’s Court, Steve actually gets some money just for being there.

Well done, Steve-o! Intrusive, aggressive reporters need to be reminded every so often of the basics of human interaction….
