My mother-in-law was heard at our wedding telling someone that she wouldn’t give us 6 months…and that it would be my husband’s fault. We celebrated our 36th anniversary 2 weeks ago. My husband likes to say that we haven’t hit those 6 months yet. (When we celebrated our 25th anniversary we had a vow renewal with reception. We had “favors” made for the occasion: small die cast cars – like Matchbox or Hot Wheels-sized – with our names & the years painted on the roof. MIL couldn’t make it, but we were sure to send her one. Were we trying to prove a point? No…….maybe……..yes……..)
Reminds me of a satisfying incident from my past. There was a free game available for download, but all of the on-screen text was in Korean. I poked around in the game’s executable file and found a section that looked very different. I tried changing some of it with letters, then ran the game. Sure enough, those letters showed up on-screen! So I did an exhaustive replace-run procedure, until the game was playable in English, and uploaded the “modded” file. A bit later, someone else uploaded another Translation Mod, using all my translations and a couple more he found, saying he “100% translated it!” I was pretty ticked and poked around some more and found a few more things to translate, uploading it as “110% Translated?” Not a peep from the “other guy”… ☺
