I like how they let Steve keep his shades on for the surgery.

He’s never looked it in the drawings, but perhaps Steve is actually a redhead. Many anesthetics don’t work well with many redheads. You know those horror stories one hears about a patient waking up during surgery? Typically, the patient is a redhead or has a close relative who’s a redhead. Anesthesiologists have told me, “Oh yeah, wheel a redhead into the OR and I’ll give her 30% more anesthetic.” Since general anesthesia is rather like half killing someone, in the case of redheads it’s more like 2/3 killing them. They say the trick in anesthesia isn’t putting someone under, the trick is bringing them back.

Which kind of “bud” is that?
