Maybe if it had been Tom Cruz control things would be OK. But this? Not so much.

That’s a comforting thought.

That doesn’t sound very rock and roll to me.

I read about a wreck where, if the story is true, a guy was driving a tricked out van on the interstate outside of Baltimore and engaged the cruise control, got up and left the steering wheel in order to get something from a cabinet. When the inevitable happened, he explained to the police he had engaged the cruise control which had supposedly been explained to him as an automatic pilot of sorts. Don’t know if the tale is true, but I can easily envision that happening.

But did he feed in a destination?

Now we supposedly have cars and trucks that have “hands-free” driving. Pardon me if I am distrustful of the very idea of it.

I can think of places in the West where this might work. I-10 across southern AZ and NM. Hwy 50 west from Salt Lake UT. A lot of roads in the Dakotas

Uh-oh! Mr. Penguin Opus does not grasp the meaning of “cruise control” and confuses it with “automatic pilot” (or, nowadays, the notoriously unsafe “self-driving”).
