Yes, wait until later, and then face failure. Nobody can quit unless they really want to. Some don’t actually want to, even though they say they do.

Trying to get someone else to change is one thing, but basing your happiness on that change is a disaster in the making.

You’ve decided to pitch an ignorant fit so it’s important the entire world hears your tantrum. Paste on every strip because you have something everyone should know. Millennial by any chance?

Wouldn’t she have smelled the cigarettes in the first place?

True she knew he smoked before they moved in together. He should leave now while the going gets tougher.

obviously the original objectionable post is gone. I slept in— no idea what everyone’s talking about on every strip I follow.

She may have seen him or not, but she “nose” what he’s doing!

Marriage: The union of a man who thinks a woman won’t change and woman who thinks a man will.

Maybe we should add “smokers” to our list of What Not To Talk About At Gatherings, along with “religion” and “politics”. It creates a debate that may end up in a brawl.

The only way to change someone else is to change yourself first.

You got that right. Their reaction to you will change as you do.

Camels have a reputation for being a strong cigarette.A blend of domestic and Turkish tobaccos.I spent a year in Turkey (1964) and wish I’d brought back a carton of their cigarettes. I never smoked, but would liked to have had a pack ready for someone who bums cigs-“Got a moke on you?”“Sure, try one of mine!”(One of my friends brought a few back, lit up at an arena, and almost got arrested for smoking dope!

ALERT: Hang in here – if the series continues, we are about one month away from the funniest FBW sequences ever – my opinion!

Does Elly really call her Geo, pronounced Gee Oh? That is an odd name to call a woman.

The old adage: men enter marriage hoping their wife will never change, women enter marriage hoping to change their husband as they see fit. Neither side is 100% correct.

JPuzzleWhizThank you for your service. I get online a bit later in the day and I can’t recall even seeing the name..comicsssfanAt least your unvarying themes are expressed in a proper vocabulary. As for car names I have found quite a few. A Nova is an exploding star, as well as Spanish for no go. Vega is the brightest star in Lyra, the liar, no lyre, but close. The Corella sounds like a cigar (I knew I could bring it back around to smoking!), and I am sure fellow posters can think of a few more.

Hubby’s uncle was a smoker and wouldn’t even quit after surgery for lung cancer.

A lot of times, girls/women named Georgia are called Jo, Could be spelled Geo, though. Kind of like the male name Giovanni is often pronounced Jo-vanni.

Being an ex-smoker I try not to be too judgemental towards smokers, but I’ve seen both sides now and it is a nasty habit,or addiction if you prefer.Unlike narcotics, negative behaviour changes are subtle but they do exist.these days I can’t see too many relationships lasting where one person smokes and the other doesn’t.I like an earlier comment that Said Geo should look for a non-smoker,or be prepared to accept Phil as a smoker. There are no excuses later on if you knowingly get involved with someone who already has a problem.

You will not remain unchanged in any relationship, whether you want to or not, and it will not always be for the better.

Don’t worry, I hear plenty of debate on politics and religion going on even with that old saying that says not to. Debating can be fun and enlightening if facts are used and not name calling.

@hippogriff. Comet is a car! Comet is a fast moving rock in space! Comet is a handy, dandy kitchen and bathroom cleaner! And calm it is what fathers say when kids get too rowdy!

If she’s like most women, once she’s finished changing him, she’s finished with him.

locakeExperiments with prison “volunteers” in the 1930s showed that nicotine by injection was more addictive than heroin as a return to their usual heroin showed light withdrawal symptoms. It was just that mainlining is too close to an overdose to be used..Before Thatcher Americanized the police (one-third armed, punitive drug enforcement, etc.) heroin was available with a doctor’s prescription and monitoring under National Health Service. 5% per year stopped on their own and criminals were cut out of the profits and need to promote drug use. The 5% became workers and taxpayers on a maintenance dose. Now there is a major drug problem whereas, if continued, it could of wiped out drug addiction by attrition.
