After Princess Alexandra grew up, a psychiatrist was able to help her immensely. He convinced her that she had only swallowed a small spinet piano made of cheese and crackers.

Adult mantises die soon after mating/laying eggs. I believe the act of eating the male (this doesn’t always happen) ensures there is a solid meal to help the chances of egg development and laying.
