Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for June 22, 2016
Transcript:
Narrator: As Duke stares death in the face, memories of early manhood fan out through his mind... Man: ...and we're proud to say we're still segregated. Duke: Boy! This is the college for me! Man: Darnit, Brother Duke, that's our last keg of brewski! Girl: Are you sure you're a teaching assistant, Dukey? Coach: Grateful alumni, eh? Duke: Just keep the point spread to five, got it? Mother: One of three men I used to know would be very proud of you, dear! Duke: Don't try anything stupid! I'm a college graduate!

Too bad we lost Gonzo years ago. What would he have to say about the Donald?

Duke was a weak kid with a sad life. He is a pestilence and a blight on society. I suspect he is doomed to greatness. Long live the Duke. Whether he likes it or not.

There is an interesting true story in the background regarding Trudeau and Hunter Thompson in real life. If you google it and check out some of the articles on slate, it shows some info about HST thinking that Trudeau was spying on him. In reality, GT merely used some biographical info which had been written by HST himself. When HST died, there was an interesting story arc on Doonesbury which somewhat resembled what happened to HST. HST had decided he would take his own life rather than be ravaged by a disease and had asked him family to shoot his remains out of an explosive device.

I knew an acquaintance of HST. I once asked her if he was as wild as he portrayed himself in his writings, and she said he actually toned it down for publication.

At least his mother narrowed it down to one of three potential sperm donors. Some couldn’t come anywhere near that close.

Jack’s World said, @leftwingpatriot“Trump has always been a people person.”.Perhaps, but he certainly projects the image of anasshole..“He makes friends, not enemies.”.He made a few enemies recently, mocking people and calling them ridiculous names..“But remember that Hillary forbids people under her control from even making eye contact with her.”.She’s generously trying to avoid turning them into stone..“She definitely hates people.”.Not so much hates as simply seems to consider herself above all of them and them only useful as stepping stones or as barriers, walls, if you will..“I believe that she has mental issues.”.Not as bad as her supporters who only care that she is a Democrat or a woman..“I predict that armchair practitioners of psychobabble will eventually speculate that she is afflicted with Asperger syndrome, if they haven’t already.”.Reasonable other than the term “psychobabble.”Also, others with it tend to consider it an asset rather than an affliction.Nonetheless, upon further consideration, it seems unlikely since most of the ones who actually do have Asperger’s seem to have a hard time lying.

Jack’s World said,@StCleve72“Okay, here is how you unravel a typical Clinton spin.”
and the hard evidence, video of her discussing it and laughing about how she raped the girl a second time (my take on it)

.Yep.She obviously lied about either doing it as a favor for a friend or about being forced to take the case. She obviously thought it was funny that she was able to get a rapist of a 12 year old off in part by lying about the 12 year-old wanting it and fantasizing about it..To try to get the rapist off is reasonable if she intended to defend him.To lie to the court about the child’s reputation is a violation of her duty to be honest to the court..It is interesting that the lab “lost” the evidence.I wonder how common that was.I wonder if it was “lost” as a favor to her boyfriend, Bill Clinton.I have no evidence against him, just know he has lied to the court before in another sex case. Shoot, come to think about it, he lied to me about it too.Back when Hillary said if the thought of him having sex with his students while a law school professor married to her bothered me, “Heck, don’t vote for him.”It bothered me, so heck, I didn’t vote for him.The majority of American voters thought it was okay, though, so anything he did after that as far as I am concerned had the people’s seal of approval..All that said, none of that would justify voting for Donald Trump.I’m currently favoring the stoner Libertarian since the commie I voted for in the primaries lost to her.
