Those Lazy Days Of Summer
Grandma: You've done absolutely nothing all day.
Gabby: Oh, like it's my fault that doing absolutely nothing feels so amazing.
Doing nothing does NOT feel amazing to me! I do a fair share of just sitting around, but while I am sitting, I will read or knit or something. Otherwise, just doing nothing feels wrong.
My son-in-law has a full time night job and goes to college full time during the day. He has taken the summer off from college (but has a part time day job) and still works nights. He took a week vacation with the intention of doing nothing and catch up on his sleep. That lasted one day and then he proceeded to “spring clean” the entire house and cook dinner for my daughter every evening. He said he was bored. Daughter said she wished he’d take a vacation more often. ;-)
Ditto. I’m exceedingly lazy, yet I must always be doing “something.” The notion of taking pleasure in, say, lying on a beach is entirely nonsensical to me. I truly cannot comprehend how anybody could take pleasure in lying or sitting around doing absolutely nothing. (Well, with the exception of meditation – the ability to momentarily actually think of nothing is entirely beyond my present capabilities but sounds quite meritorious.)

No, I get it. Doing nothing is often exactly what I want to do.
