I think this is where cats and dogs share the similar “personality” trait of being easily distracted. Most of the cats I’ve had over the years could get side-tracked by a random piece of fluff, a wayward leaf or even a bit of sunshine.
(We have a British shorthair now and he’s a lovely combination of James-Bond-cool and Jack-Bauer-attentiveness. In 3 years, I’ve never seen him scared and very rarely side tracked .. . seriously).
