I remember going to a friend’s house to see one of the first VCRs. I think it cost something like $1200 which was a ton of money back in the day. The last one I bought was at Walmart for $40.
My soon to be ex-wife somehow got ahold of a bunch of old VHS tapes a couple years ago. Wanted to sell them on eBay because she heard they were making a comeback and were getting valuable. They literally sat in bags since she got them. Still are.

Everybody thought vinyl was over and done with but, they seem to be coming back some what.

Vinal’s grooves didn’t wear if you used a good cartridge. Vcr oxide is losing its magnetism, the tape is getting brittle, and the oxide is shedding.
