How appropriate today’s strip is for me. I have a follow-up check-up appt. on Thursday, so I need a referral slip, so I call my Primary care, am on hold for several minutes, but am at work so I put my phone on speaker so I can hear when they answer, paid 2 office bills and updated an employees time sheet in the meantime. Finally someone answers, takes my info then asks ME if I have the office FAX number for that doctor, I said, “NO, I DON’T. DON’T YOU HAVE THAT INFORMATION”!? She says to me No, I’m just the ANSWERING SERVICE, I am in Danville, (which is about 90 miles away from me, BTW!)

This is the Geisinger System, a well known very corporate Health Care System here in PA. AN ANSWERING SERVICE FOR A MAJOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER? SERIOUSLY??!!.
