While I’m suspicious because it is Erdogan afterall, he’s opening up non-profitable air-routes between many African cities with the state-subsidised airline, Air Turkey in order to boost Turkey’s profile but it makes the continent much easier to visit, especially from Europe. Some African countries lack direct flights and need more indirect routes.
