Skinny kid, he hasn’t grown into this pair yet.Boys used to get jeans two sizes to big and wear them until they got too short to cuff. Then they would wear them until they got too tight.Next school year they would repeat the cycle.Then when it seemed that would go on forever, they got into high schooling run thru 4 sizes so fast that they didn’t get worn out at all.In those days, if you were lucky, You never wanted to grow up.
Red’s jeans might be Martin’s hand-me-downs, provided Martin didn’t wear them out too badly. I always wore those double-knee’d jeans from Sears Roebuck…
Days of fighting with my siblings. Mom yelling at us all day long. Street hockey, swimming & fishing up at the pond or the Susquehanna River, Red Rover, Kick the Can, firefly catching, basketball in the backyard, tag, Cowboys and Indians or Cops and Robbers, watermelon seed spitting contests off the front porch…..Wonderful, wonderful memories!
