Summer memories: Satellites passing overhead were so few you practiced not blinking so you wouldn't miss one.
Not just the satellites…you didn’t want to miss the flying saucers, either!
Light pollution is a problem. I like to watch satellites pass by at night.
Love the summer memories – now on to making new memories together with RED & ROVER
LOVE & HUGS TO RED & ROVER
A lot of litter up there now…
I remember sitting out and watching Telstar pass over. Talk about fueling the young imagination…I still have a 45 of the instrumental song as well.
Summer 1957 — watching the night sky for Sputnik 1.
Sorry – but when I was Red’s age (8, 9, 10 years old?) it was early 1950’s – there were no man made satellites orbiting the Earth.
