Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars... Let me- What are you doing? What? Uh... Singing. I sorta forgot school was out for summer. But... You don't walk around the house singing while we're in school! Gasp! She does! How long has this been going on?!

Most valuable lesson I ever taught my older son. My wife would walk about the house whistling her favorite songs, and 7-year old son would complain to her, “stop that. I don’t like it.”
Happened several times, but once I caught him immediately after such a complaint and suggested, “When mom whistles, it means she is happy. When you complain to her, it makes her angry or sad. Why does it make your life better for mom to be angry or sad than when she is happy?” Logical child, he never complained again.

“How long has that been going on?” How long has the youngest of you kids been going to school?

I don’t often sing when I’m on my own in the house. I would whistle but I can’t.
So I just hum instead.
