In April 2015, Marianne Winkler on vacation in Armum, Germany, discovered the world's oldest message in a bottle- first tossed to the sea by a British marine biologist in 1906! The elephant's closest living relative on land is the small, furry rock hyrax! In Finland, when someone earns their PhD, they are giving a top hat and a sword.

A 110-year-old message in a bottle? How original.

So what did the message say?
sweetaddietude over 8 years ago
A top hat and a sword for earning a PhD. I wonder if women get these?

I only got as far as my Master’s degree. If I upgrade, I’m doing it in Finland.

I already have a top hat and a sword. Now all I need is a Ph.D in Finland.

I have a Ph.D., and have a sword, too! Got the latter, though, for being an officer in the Navy.
