Adam@Home by Rob Harrell for August 07, 2016
Transcript:
Adam: Almost ready. I think I'm gonna go for a run. Laura: In this heat? Adam: Yeah, I know it's hot, but I've taken precautions. I kept my shorts and bandana in the freezer last night. So, that'll help me stay cool for the first couple of minutes. Then this wintergreen gum will, refresh me for the next two minutes. Then I job through the 7-eleven for a quick respite... Jump through the hannigan's sprinkler... Dive in the Wilson's pool, and I'm home! Laura: Your dedication to discomfort avoidance knows no bounds. Adam: I'm petitioning to make it an Olympic event. Clayton: Tokyo 2020!

I wonder whether he’s been reading John Cheever’s classic short story “The Swimmer.”

Soaking a long-sleeved shirt and your hair will keep you cool for 10 miles on a bicycle.

Does anybody else think Adam keeping his “shorts in the freezer last night” is just a bit disgusting?
