Now how come I didn’t get notice last week about the Earth being that far away from the sun?

We keep trying to go where no man has gone before, but gravity says otherwise.

Earth’s orbit around the sun is not a perfect circle. Always been that way, and will be for at least another billion years, give or take a few million.

I take it then that July 4 is the apogee and January 2 is the perigee of Earth’s orbit around the Sun?

This is why summer (northern hemisphere) is longer than winter. If you get out your calendar and count the days you will see this is so.

The smallest fish eaten as food by humans, you mean. And the “as food” part seems redundant.

So why is it warmer when we’re further away?
