I loaned my car (a â56 Chevy) to a shipmate who returned it slighlty âbentâ. Thereafter, two hands were required to drive it â the right hand to keep the gear shift from jumping out of gear, and the left to keep the car from hooking to the right. As tiring as that was, I was fortunate that I had to stop every 40 miles or so to put water in the radiator.
I loaned my â57 Chevy to my brother-in-law and he brought it back with a bent valve but wouldnât fix it. My employer had it hauled to the junk yard when I couldnât get it fixed.
I am wondering if the cartoonist might be suggesting that the driver might have a pager instead of a phone or a very simple flip phone? Like, I think itâs called, a Jitterbug?
