    MaizingNeither Web Col 10 nor my 5-vol unabridged give an etymology, but both mention the common source is sheep intestine. Neither mention the use of stretched silkworm larvae intestine in surgery, although the unabridged did mention that cats were unlikely to have ever been used. Research is useful before declaring.

    In point of fact, a kitten would have a bit of difficulty dragging a shoe in Jimbo’s size. A baby shoe, yes. Pasquale’s shoe, maybe. Jimbo’s would probably be half her weight.
