While I like all of Gary Brookins’ illustrations, I must say that I find today’s image especially noteworthy and impressive. It may be the darkened background, or it may be the way he captured the somewhat tired and disdainful look on both the dog and the master’s face…. but this particular effort is IMO well above the average, already excellent illustrations.
Ours is a cat who wants to be escorted to his food bowl so he can eat with an audience. The bowl isn’t empty, he just wants company. So, every day between 5 & 5:30 my husband follows him down the hall, turns on the light, watches him start to eat and then comes back to bed.
I have a cat that acts like a town crier, every hour or two and she comes in the hallway and cries and then runs away. But she really makes my wife mad about 10 minutes before the alarm goes off.

FIdo either wants a walk, or needs to be let outside to the nearest hydrant to do his “business”

Our first bunny would sleep on our bed. In the morning racing around like crazy! Leaping and doing bunny ballet moves. So much fun!

sure I do; it’s about 5 minutes before the electric one does.a wet nose on the cheek rouses you quickly….great for power outages!

My alarm clocks climb on me and meow piteously. If I’m lucky, they give up and get between us and go to sleep.

Nothing like doggy breath to wake you up in the morning.
