Since many characters these days are dogs and cats, that’s probably the bulk of the ingredients.

Most comic strip characters are bland no matter how they are cooked. Dry or watery is the only difference.

I prefer them deep-fried, like tonkatsu.

It’s the old story; they become to limp to be Lame.

True, I guess. But the stir-fried ones lose some of their natural flavor. Try broiling, well basted, with a side of roasted potatoes! And of course apple sauce to go with Long Pig!

I will second the demand for deep frying. You haven’t read comics until you’ve had Nancy and Sluggo tempura.

Teresa’s friend Samuli had a nice tribute to Teresa’s friend Richard Thompson today ((R.I.P. Cut de Sac).

Most of today’s comic strips have very little character!!! A hot mess of wishie-washie-blandness is afoot.

He had no way of knowing, but the bland bits and drabs he was contributing to what he imagined to be a weak broth without any substance were much more than that once she applied her skills at interpreting silences. A meager bit of cleaned and tanned hide, when submitted for consideration, supplied the entire beast from which it had been rendered, hooves, hair and all. The details to supply color and texture were absent, but she knew much more than he had ever intended to say. He was less now of the fish out of water, and more of the fish in the stew-pot, though he had no idea that the temperature was rising.
