You are getting sleepy. You have a craving for fish heads and vole guts. The paper bag on the living room floor is your new favorite past time.

These are of course quantum portraits of Schrödinger’s cat (or cats). These cats had been given to him by Heizenberg and consequently their color was always a matter of uncertainty. Schrödinger was able to observe that by dropping a cat into a quantum bathtub that the waves generated by the cat were different depending on whether it was black or white at the time of dropping. However when he dropped one into a quantum black hole he couldn’t determine its color from the waves, but, and this led to the Schrödinger’s Cat mystery, when he fished the cat out of the black hole again it may have changed color. Or he’d forgotten which one he dropped in. Or there was only ever one cat. Nothing is certain. I feel a quantum headache coming on.

So then, it was decided. Rather than cast and creel, cat and mouse would be the game. And for now, it was time to watch and to learn. His business was rather plain to her, as most things that happened were easily known or discovered. The life he was living was fragile thing, easily disrupted or put asunder. Hers was quite secure, and she had the means to toy with his with impunity. How far she would take it could only be decided in the moment.Had she a tail, it would have been twitching as he walked about and mingled under her unseen eye.
