Actually, a charging dog is much scarier if it isn’t barking — even a friendly dog running up to greet you. It’s the “noncommittal” aspect. Leaves you wondering up ’til the last moment.

I am just impressed that Poncho is barking and going into danger, even if he is being carried. Something is terribly wrong here.
