My best pal used to say that I was nuttier than a fruitcake. While I puzzled over the notion that if a cake had nuts it ought to be called a nutcake, not a fruitcake. Later on I figured that the fruitcake was a metaphor for insanity, calling something by something other than what it was. Which seems to fit Trump. I’ve usually voted Republican but perhaps I’d be willing to trade the survival of human civilization for a slide into socialism in this country. At least you can recover from socialism, such as what Great Britain is trying to do currently.
