that isn’t the worst answer. Lots of outside materials are made to look like wood, but aren’t, really. His answer also reveals that he is humble about his knowledge of construction materials and techniques, IOW, he won’t try to bullsite his buddy by claiming to know something he doesn’t.

That kind is getting a little hard to find these days.

But when was this deck built? They’ve shown all around his house and yard with no deck in sight.

That “deck” sure looks like a porch to me.
