Good morning, Vagabonds. I’m sorry that I haven’t commented often in the past 2 months. My GoComics account has gone crazy. I paid several hundred dollars for a “microsoft” company (Indians) to help me with my internet problems. This was supposed to be good for several years, but a few months ago their phone went south. Often, when I’m trying to catch up with my comics, I suddenly get switch over to a comic I never heard of or even to my Facebook account.
At that point I get so frustrated I just go back to catching up to my reading: I’m on a marathon to read all my books that I want to give away that I’m never read so that I may minimize the things I have in NY. I’ve been in NY since March and I estimate I’ve read or reviewed 50-6o ofmy books and either given them to friends or made many trip to thrift shops to donate them. On Monday I donated several books to a Salvation Army on Manhattan’s Upper West Side – I like that branch because the books are neatly organized and won’t gather dust. Unfortunately for my campaign of minimizing, I bought an LP of Khachaturian. I like Aram Khachaturian but this particular composition was disappointing – too electronic. I also bought a child’s set of Arabic words with pictures of everyday objects – I’ve been trying to learn the Arabic alphabet and thought that once I can get the words transliterated I]d be able to learn the alphabet. I can already write my name in Arabic and can read Cyrilic as well as Hebrew.
In addition, my asthma is under control and my diabetes’ numbers are very good even when I “cheat.” In spite of my cheating, I’ve lost 55 pounds.
In addition, every other day I go on long errands in preparation for my return to Miami in exactly 1 month. yesterday, I rode on 6 buses and 2 subways. I also joined BJs.
I have been following all of your adventures even if I haven’t been commenting myself.
Arye, it is good to hear from you. Frankly, I was thinking it’s been really quiet here in Vagabondland lately without you. I hope you’ve got that computer problem solved now.
And welcome back Arye! It’s good to hear from you again. As David said, I hope you’ve got your computer problems under control now.
We too are packing books to donate (first to the parking lot sale and those that don’t sell will go to Salvation Army – they are sending a truck to pick up whatever doesn’t sell). I guess the difference is we have already read the books we are donating and decided we probably won’t ever read them again. Downsizing everything to fit in the RV is brutal!
Today I have an appointment to have blood drawn for a wellness program that will reduce the amount of premiums we pay for Michael’s group insurance. I’m pretty healthy, so I have no worries.
It is currently about 70 with a forecasted high of 84. It’s overcast outside with high humidity and a chance of rain. All in all, a good day for errands.
Good morning, VagabondsI’ll echo everyone else and say “Welcome home, Arye”!!! so glad to hear of your adventures in New York land. Jan, I don’t know how you’re going to minimize everything to fit into your RV!! Good luck. the Garnet ghost town was very interesting. At the peak they had a population of 3,000. And that was only counting the men! I wonder if women didn’t count all over in the 1880’s? We have a few historians in our group……when did they start counting women in the census?

Good morning Vagabonds.
Having a wet, drizzly day today with temp in low 70’s. Going to be like this all week through Sunday.
I guess I can forget about any yard work.
