Breaking Cat News by Georgia Dunn for January 24, 2017
Transcript:
Puck: Hello viewers, Puck here! Ceiling Woman has gone to the library, leaving our Woman in the kitchen. Woman: Missing girl, frightened cats. What does it all mean? Lupin: Puck! I saw Tillie! I saw the old woman! Puck: What? Tillie is a cat. You saw Freddie. Tillie: Freddie is a little girl. Try again, gambler! Ghost: That calculator is playing music. Woman: Hi honey! Man (on phone): Hey. Woman: Everything okay? Man (on phone): Can you come to the basement? Elvis: Can we get coverage back in the basement? Burt? Lupin: Elvis, I'm live in the basement where- Elvis: No, your not! Stop it! You were just clinging to the side of my face- Lupin: And now I'm clinging to the side of a dryer...I'm a professional. Man: Found my lost pen. Woman: Yay! Man: And this dead cat. Woman: Oh, how terrible! Man: Some mice got into the walls and messed with the wiring. Had my pen too. The mice got away, but when I was following their trail, I found this poor cat. I think there was an accident. The bad news: an older beam caved in on it. I think when this part of the house was added on. The good news: it was instant. Looks like this little cat never knew what hit it. Tillie: Whatcha lookin at there crackerjack? Puck: Nothing! Everything's just aces, lumberjack!

Love Freddie saying that about the “calculator” ringing!

Are they say Tillie met with an untimely death when Freddie was still a child?

Love, LOVE poofy Lupin wrapped around Elvis’s head. And Lupin melding himself with the laundry basket. Little ‘Georgia-style’ Easter eggs. And Freddie popping soap bubbles.

That poor little skull always breaks my heart. But I love the bubbles. And the “calculator.” And sweet Pucky.

Mice in a house where at least 5 cats live? My previous pair weren’t particularly good hunters, but my half of the duplex never had a mouse while the people living in the other half kept having to buy traps for them every autumn. I always assumed that the mere smell of a carnivore kept the mice out.

Remember this is a mansion with many rooms. The mice seem to hang out in the laundry room walls where the cats don’t live. Also, I have two cats and mice have tried to take up residence. I don’t think mice are concerned about carnivores being present.

…Lupin’s ears and mike are also visible in the second last panel :)…I love the first panel, it reminds me of some of the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner cartoons, I just can’t recall which one :)…

Lol, I take Puck’s last comment to Tillie to be his attempt to mimic her slang, but he hasn’t quite got the hang of it…. I really do like this storyline, it’s the 2nd time I’ve seen it, it just never gets old… SUCH a huge fan of this strip!
