Studies show that those who listen to mainstream talk-radio (Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, &al.) think that they are the best informed but are actually the worst informed.
Unfortunately, we also know that reading (actual books, magazines, & newspapers) makes one better informed than do any of the electronic media.
A charactistic of Teapublicans is that they frequently have heard the facts, but their hatred & other emotions keep them from accepting the facts. This is the reason that Teapublicans want to keep Social Security, Medicare, & the current size of the U.S. military but want no taxes and “small” government. Teapublicans hold an irrational hatred of President Obama. Obama has lowered their taxes and is ending Bush-Dick’s hugely expensive wars, but Teapublicans hate Obama anyway.

Which party is against privatizing Social Security?
Irrational is a st rang word when you stating facts
Glad to see your Prez keep his promise (like GITMO) and get our fighting men out of Iraq. Two battles since then, Two killed, six wounded. But, but, but, ThePrez said we were out?I guess pre announcing your war plans isn’t the brightest thing to do. What? He’s doing it again in another country? This murdering of US troops because of the November elections is the best politics he can do? Foreign policy takes a back seat to his domestic schemes? What books, magazines, and newspapers do you read, the Pravda(NYT)?
Keep your “Tax the Rich, feed the poor” 60s lyrics for your hippie friends.A Hundred years ago Lincoln said that wouldn’t work, but he was a Republican so everything he did was wrong, right?
Lew, Democrats, progressives, and anyone who has followed the stock-market are against privatizing Social Security. That last group contains a number of Teapublicans. Recall 2005, when Bush-Dick tried to give a windfall of Social Security money to his wealthy Wall Street friends, and the Republican Congress said no. When The New York Times polled the Teapublicans this spring, it found that most of them want to keep Social Security, although some of them want it privatized. I presume that this faction also believes that President Obama is a Muslim, since it has trouble with facts.
I am glad to see you bring up Guantanamo Bay (although it is plain that you don’t dare spell it) and Iraq, since they are two of the many messes your beloved bush-dick left for Obama. He has stopped the torture at Guantanamo, although he has not closed the place yet. As for Iraq, Bush-Dick declared “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” seven years ago, and the fighting has not stopped. Your beef is with him, but then again, almost all your beefs are. Pretty much all your complaints about Obama are that he has not cleaned up after Bush-Dick quickly enough. You flatter Obama with your high expectations, but you were the one who supported abysmal expectations for eight years.
Look at the most prosperous time of the last fifty years, the 1960s: The highest tax rate was 20% higher than it is today. There were fewer poor, the Great Society was helping people out of poverty, and the gap between rich & poor was shrinking.
If you hate The New York Times so much, Lew, then tell us what you DO read. Enquiring minds want to know.

With citizens like this, democracy is doomed. Perhaps after the Hispanics take over from the Whites we will have a smarter class of voters.
