Day one is usually ok, except for having to get up early. Yo are usually too distracted, unless you end up in one of those dreaded homework-on-the-first-day classes.
Traditional in BC — the fair (Pacific National Exhibition) runs the last two weeks of Summer and it pours with icy rain the whole time. The next day (day after Labor Day/ first day of school) the sun comes out and it’s Summer again all September!

Dutch also spells it ‘school,’ but it’s hard for English speaking people to pronounce.
