Meh

Being retired means no longer having holidays. Or weekends.

My saying is “I got nothing to do and all day to do it in !”

Yeah,I guess doing nothing all day beats providing armed security to people in a Federal Credit Union in a crime-infested part of a mid-sized city in the lower Midwest USA.I guess so.

I love retirement. Still busy, but with different stuff, 98% of which I WANT to do.

Now that I’m retired I work pretty much 24/7. But now I work at what I’m passionate about – companion animal rescue. “Real” work was never this exhausting … or this rewarding.

I used to be a programmer, then a shop owner, now I’m a carer for my elderly mother, who is crippled with arthritis. I fetch and carry for her and help her to wash and do all the housework and the cooking and shopping and gardening and I’m working on a book and the thing is, I really enjoyed being a programmer and being a shop owner, but now the thing I can’t work out is, how the hell did I ever find the time? Especially as I had an hour’s commute each way.

i am retired also and do what i want, when i want and how i want. and to hell with the rest of the world.
