The makeover was not done at taxpayer expense; the White House said the costs were covered by the White House Historical Association, a non-profit group, through a contribution from the committee that paid for Mr. Obama’s inauguration.
Remember the hats and “jazz” Nixon put on the White House guard and band so he could look like a European “prince”? I prefer bland, and getting the job done. Too bad the press doesn’t.
I remember the White House plates that Reagan had with all of his co-stars on them. And removing a perfectly good solar water heater because it might be liberal. And Nancy’s remodel, throwing out the old drapes. And George W.’s bright yellow rug. This is tame.

I haven’t heard about Obama’s concert-going habits, but what “concerns” you so much about them anyway?

Why shouldn’t the president (even Bushes or Reagan) get a few perks, they are after all the LOWEST PAID CEOs in America!!!

I just learned something from Bob Reich:
“Word from the twelve Federal Reserve Banks, summarized in the Fed’s so-called ”Beige Book,” shows the economy slowing in July and August.”
