I know it is hard, but sometimes if you know you have a fault and you have to go to school or work, OWN IT. Yeah, my face is green, and my shirt is green and I have a green pen and everything I am doing for the next couple of days is going to be green! I may even write a love letter to Green Peace. Deal with it.
As one wise commenter said you have to " own it". Michael’s not too young to learn that lesson, and really,he put the food dye on his face all by himself.Sure, his parents should and do show some compassion, well Elly does anyway, but the thing is kids are being coddled too much these days.I know some people that drove their kid to school every day for 13years.Too many people want to blame someone else for their short comings.Elly knows exactly what she is doing. She doesn’t want to raise a young man so feeble that his landlady has to check that he turned the stove off on a daily basis. She wants Michael to go to school so that later in life he won’t bemoan his unfortunate life daily, and blame it on the public school system. Elly truly is a SUPER-MOM!!!

Just call in sick. They’ll believe you when they see that you’ve turned green…

Bearing John’s sarcastic humor in mind, I wonder who’s going to give Michael more pain, his father or his classmates.

it’s the silly attempt to hide and look inconspicuous that ’s so funny.

In a couple of hours, Michael, you are going to have more to worry about than just looking sick.
