If you had studied history rather than the Gabbler-censored garbage Texas forced on the nation by way of cowardly textbook publishers, you would have known that Klan membership (but not support nor activity) was required for any political or religious leadership in that period. One need not have the sheet, nor burn a cross. Indeed, by the late 1930s, one could even work openly against them, as did Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, whose membership came into question during Senate hearings.
