Reminds me of the Dick and Jane readers in which Jake the handyman pilled up the leaves so that the kids could jump into them. He also roasted potatoes the the leaves that he burned later. Also thought that a neat idea, but never tried it.
Leaf flame is relatively cool, which is why it makes poor tender for campfires. I doubt that the standard baking potato will cook all the way through unless an almost endless supply of leaves is added.

Should be regardless. Shredded, they make good compost. Burned, they just make more air pollution.
