Yeah, never received one either until this year. Last week in fact. Thought it was an early Christmas card from the insurance company. Turned out to be a Happy Thanksgiving card. Strange.

WHAT is a Turkey Card?

Isn’t a card you send to a turkey?

It had to come……

Has Linus been “stuffing” his Turkey Cards in the envelopes?

Didn’t Charlie Brown send out a wheelbarrow full of Turkey cards some years ago only to have every one come back marked undeliverable?

Neither have I.

I have. My mother loves sending cards and has them for all occasions, so one year she sent a Thanksgiving card. It had a turkey on it. Hence…turkey card! :)

On Halloween Linus mails Pumpkin cards.

Did Les Nesman get a turkey card?

If one can refer to Thanksgiving as “turkey day,” then I suppose Thanksgiving cards could be referred to as “turkey cards.”

Silly, they only go to turkeys! They say something like this….“To you who are about to die, we raise our carving knives and salute you.”

Hey your a turkey…glad I don’t get those cards.

Hope you get plenty of under the table handouts and lots of left-overs.

But why Woodstock was eating a fellow bird in the Thanksgiving TV special was never adequately explained…….

I was wondering what a “Turkey” card was and then the penny finally dropped.

In the Blondie cartoon strip they have a running gag of Dagwood putting up a Thanksgiving Tree. He also passes out drumsticks to the local kids as if it were Halloween.

But Woodstock was only ever pictured eating bird seed and the like (or sometimes marshmallows, while out hiking with the rest of Snoopy’s Beagle Scouts…..although, now I’m starting to wonder if there might be an episode of Woodstock roasting a wienie……)
