“Call a freaking ambulance!,” would’ve looked weird on a sleigh.

I’ll bet that’s what he originally said but the crooked media screwed it all up.

That was my Pepere Adrien’s philosophy. He was my grandmother’s 4th husband, but the only one who was a REAL (as opposed to biological; my bio Pepere died a week before my 1st birthday) grandfather to us. He married my grandmother soon after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and took care of her to her dying day. That’s why my younger daughter’s middle name is Adrienne. I still miss him.

Lynn’s Notes:As I wrote and drew this series, I was sure I was adding to the longevity of both these characters.

    I believe she was correct.

Ever since my sister died at 26, I don’t take anything like longevity for granted. Every day IS a blessing if we recognize it as such.

An old folks home would not have stairs up to the front door.
