I’m remembering WTTW’s crazy Doctor Who pledge drives than went on and on and on till the callers were calling to support Doctor When.

I did support public radio and TV for a time, and after making the initial commitment, I was inundated by mail and phone solicitations from organizations all over the planet!

In spite of both pledge drives, and the “brought to you by” intros, they have less total commercial time than the stations which interrupt the flow of the program to try to sell you something you neither want nor need.
