I always imagined that our baby must have thought we were stupid because we kept asking him the same questions over and over. Which one is the cow? What does the cow say? Which one is the square? Which circle is blue? etc. He’s probably thinking, "Dude, my parents sure do forget things quickly:

That pretty much addresses the questions regarding all animals.

Not all that many people like adult Noam Chomsky.

As long as he sticks to linguistics he’s okay. Just keep him away from political discussions or economics.

Koko has a lot to say about Noam Chomsky.

Unwanted truths are his speciality. Linguistics is just his job.

Chimps have shown they can learn signing to a remarkable degree as have gorillas. No one has tried with bonobos yet.

Doesn’t seem so strange. Nobody likes him now, either. That isn’t just a figure of speech.

Night-Gaunt…. if you’re going to go around correcting people…..
I guess I should point out to you that you’re wrong (" by a long shot.") about bonobos.
Just Google “Kanzi” and you’ll see a lot of information.
And whatever his political opinions…and usually he and I are on the same side…..
Noam Chomsky is NOT known as a likeable fellow….
He’s argumentative…. not the cuddly sort….
and among other things, he asserts that all language training in simians is bogus and entirely unlike human speech.
There are linguists and language teachers on both sides of that debate….
but he is strident.
