I got mine in my early 20s, the last in my 30s. Don’t think I could pick one up if it fell over, now.

While I was growing up the economy was beginning to wind down, sending over seas and cutting back on salaries in my field.

At age 19 I had my 1st bike slide out from under meron a patch of sand in Lavalette at the jersey Shore. 50 yrs later the scars on my left knee and elbow remind me of it. My last ride was sideswiped by a pickup truck at age 50 I was dumped, concussed and hospitalized for 4 months. Physical damage severe enough that I no longer drive a car let alone a bike.

I wish I’d realized I was “failing well” when I was. It would have made all the difference – and saved me a lot of time.

Could someone ask NightGaunt what his line of work is or was? He won’t “speak” to me. I forget why. I probably called him something nasty. Smart man but a bit egotistical. Like me? And BigPuma? Maybe.

And I respectfully submit that you all, my fellow Frazz fans, aren’t quite getting the intent of this arc. More on that later but please don’t take it as me saying I’m smarter or better than any of you except BigPuma and yeah, I’m kinda kidding. He’s as smart as they come. Tangle with him at your own risk and, like me, be glad you don’t have to take a long distance drive with him. Can you imagine?

“If you want to make God laugh, make plans.” – An old proverb I’ve found to be true more often than not.

“Fail Well” now that does look tricky.

I have been thinking back to what I wanted to do when I was that age. I think there is only one occupation I have not done – archeologist. I have written a bit on it, but never been on a dig. Non-professional activities: I never had the time and the money at the same time to learn to fly, but I have done all the rest.

    .

An Arab proverb says one should write a book, plant a tree, and have a son. (preserve one’s: ideas, environment, and family). I am still writing (and getting them published), have planted literally thousands of trees, and had both a son and a daughter. Not too bad for being on various blacklists for half my life.
