But I guess I’m not a plugger after all. My husband’s favorite movie is “What’s Up Doc” and one of mine is “Who’s Got Mail”. Both were made well after 1964.
When I was young I tried singing Edelweiss as a lullaby to my little brother. Between my bad voice, inability to carry a tune and my poor grasp of the lyrics, I am very surprised that it worked. It still goes through my head on occasions.
He was a pussycat, she was the martinet; a shy kid was portrayed as boy-crazy; the movie “escape” was headed directly toward Hitler’s “last redoubt”, plus those already mentioned.

One of her least favorite things I presume.

“The Sound of Music”…… historically inaccurate tale of a bunch of kids and a singing governess.

Back when music was actually musical and the lyrics made sense.

I loved the music but not the movie. Have to be careful who I say that around, however. The scenic shots were gorgeous.

I felt very old when I heard that the actress who sang “I am 16, going on 17” had died.
