Nah, the worst thing is when people who barely know you give you recognition for skills they can’t possibly know you have. And, of course, they expect quid pro quo. That’s the main reason why I no longer have a Linked-In account.

Recruiters from places I’d never want to live, companies I’d never want to work for, or else what I call “3rd party recruiters” who heard of position other recruiters were trying to fill…… my resume on my web site has landed me jobs rather than recruiters for the last 18 years.

I have occasionally received invitations to connect with people on LinkedIn, even though I’m not on it. Whatever it is.
