For at least some of the excessively celebrating players, there’s a method to their madness: they’re hoping to break into commercials. (In other words, they want to be paid for telling lies………..)
As long as we’re on stupid rules, false start takes the cake. Once upon a time when players earned a few thousand a year, they were expected to wait for the snap regardless of what the other team did to bait them. Now, I guess they’re too busy counting their money to have that kind of discipline.
How about non-calls for pass interference in the final two minutes of an NFL game. Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons was clearly interfered at a crucial point in the game not only last week in the Seattle game, but also this week in the San Diego game. In both cases the refs turned a blind eye, These interferences probably cost the Falcons both games. Blatant miscues by the refs, but no challenges are allowed.

The NFL should ban the holding call. Last nights game was ridiculous.

IIRC some coach had something to say about end zone celebrations, “Act like you have been there before, not like it’s a once in a lifetime thing.”

If those players knew how silly they look they would quit that “excessive celebrating” – just plain dumb.
