Clinton is actually just behind Trump in the Texas polls, but within the margin of error. She’s far enough ahead in other places that she can afford to make a stop in Texas. Of course, since it’s politics she’s likely to pick up some donations for the trip.
I know that you were using sarcasm, but I still find it incredible that anybody believed that the Federal Gov’t wanted to invade Texas. Isn’t it already part of the United States? I’m from Texas and couldn’t believe they were that naive.
Before Shrub became governor there were stables behind the governor’s mansion because every governor was supposed to be able to open rodeos and such from horseback. Then Shrub came along, couldn’t ride at all, and it’s all been downhill since.
A horse I used on patrol was named “Tex”. I renamed him “Dudley Do Wrong”, ‘cause every time he found quicksand, which the owner said he was GREAT at finding, he proved it by walking right into it! Often ended up getting off the right side and having to remount on the same side once out of the quicksand. BTW, a well trained horse doesn’t care what side you mount. Hmm, kinda like the large number of Trump’s female conquests??
It depends on how the horse is trained. In your Eurocentric view, only the left side. The Commanche, whom Phil Sheriden declared were the finest light cavalry in the history of the world, mounted on right. Scythians trained their horses to do a show biz bow and lacking stirrips, swung their legs over the withers (useful for self-rescue when wounded).
asleethBecause in mounting, you are basically throwing the horse off balance, When the horse detects someone trying to mount, they will shift their weight to counter balance that force. Their main natural enemy is the mountain lion (or equivalent large cat in their environment), so their defense is to buck or run before the predator can get a secure hold. Get on the wrong side and the horse thinks you are that predator.

If it doesn’t go Blue this year, it will soon after, once the GOP has been destroyed by their Tea-party-Trumpians.

She’s just checking on the Jade Helm tanks and armament hidden under the Texas Walmart stores.
