I’m sure she knows quite a bit about football; she just doesn’t know anything about AMERICAN football. Remember, folks, in most of the world, what we call “soccer” is known as “football.”
What started this whole thing was the actions of some players on the NY Jets. Specifically, they did things like missing catches so they could go retrieve balls near the attractive female reporter.
Funny thing: if you watch NFL broadcasts this season, you’ll probably see an ad for Corona beer where an attractive woman is sitting on the beach. A football lands near her, and a guy runs over, picks up the ball, throws it back, then sort-of poses for her. Then another attractive woman sits near her and suddenly dozens of balls land in front of them.
Yeah, it’s only a commercial, not the real world. But I find it amusing that the ad specifically highlights a behavior that many young guys are guilty of at the same time that the league is punishing them for it.
