The beauty of the VCR: I like to record how the ‘New Years comes in around the world’, then watch it in the morning with a fresh mug of coffee.

Don’t mean to be pedantic, but the word is “troupers”, derived from those in acting, dancing, or other entertainment troupes, where “the show must go on”.

Lost count of the times I’ve said “Happy New Year to Me” while the other half sleeps!

My sister and I were not allowed to wear our PJ’s outside of the bedrooms for modesty’s sake. My mother was old fashioned that way. We did have robes for bathroom trips and emergencies.

As far as the “correcting” here goes… my 2 cents worth…I like to see it. How is anyone going to learn without being corrected now and then?

    @ Dial60

My better half was the same way. She would watch the ball drop downstairs while I did work upstairs. At a little past midnight, I would go downstairs and find her asleep on the sofa. I’d wake her up with a big kiss and she’d ask “Did I miss it, again?!”

If you’ve been out drinking, you might want to avoid some TROOPERS (the ones with badges)!! In any case have a happy and prosperous new year!

“Ben” had the same gag yesterday. I guess it’s universal.

This year it’s “5,4,3,2,1,1…” because we have a “leap second” in 2016.
