Hey, Bessie, how are you? Studies show that cows produce more milk when their farmers call them by individual names. All navel oranges are genetically identical. The Hoover Dam is sturdy enough to last over 10,000 years without maintenance.

Lake Mead will silt up long before 10,000 years pass. What then?

Anti science? Always depends who is conducting the science, who is paying and who benefits. I’m not saying GMOs are bad. It may take decades to tell whether they are bad or not. It isn’t like you eat it and boom a you grow a third arm. Cause and effect may be slow. We know autism has grown at an alarming rate, yet no one is exactly sure why.

About the Hoover Dam… tell that to Hollywood. It falls into the category of obligatory landmarks that are ALWAYS destroyed in disaster movies. How about in the next flick we see the usual destruction sequences like the Golden Gate Bridge, the White House, and then we see people at the Hoover Dam and they’re all like “We’re good, they built this baby to last.”

Unusual quality for a lowest bidder government project – too bad the builder wasn’t in charge of more of them.

When the dam was built, in the 1930s, engineering and construction co.s integrity was somewhat greater than it is now, especially under gov’t contract. Only 9,920 years (about) to go!

My grandfather was a steelworker and helped build that dam. And several others across the US, as well.
