Mouse: We wanted to thank Jon for letting us stay inside this Christmas. So my wife knitted him a little something.
Garfield: Remember, wash in cold water or it'll shrink.
Aye to All those with us and those serving far away from us,and to those of us with the Irish in them and that still remember our language taught long before the English was taught:(More like crammed down our collective throats)Nolliag Shona and Sláinte Mhaith and a Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh! To those whose Gaelic is rusty or lacking entirely: Merry Christmas,Good Health, and a Happy New Year!
“This Christmas mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love, and then speak it again.”― Howard W. Hunter
One of those things that everybody thinks they know but that is wrong. No on the cold. Wool shrinks in cold or hot water—you want tepid. Water+temperature change+agitation=felting. Tepid water, let it move the least possible, lift it out of the water while the rinse water fills up in the sink so that it’s not exposed to that movement, and you can spin it out in the washer if water doesn’t spray during the spin. It might fuzz out a bit, though, depending on how tightly its yarn was spun. (I have a cashmere sweater that came out looking like angora that way.) If you don’t want fuzz, wrap it in a clean towel and stand on the towel and then take it out and lay it flat to dry.
